Metro Council 2025: Fusus and MNPD Surveillance Explainer, Pt. 3: the "Guardrails" on MNPD

On Tuesday, the Council cleared an amended guardrails bill, now it goes to a final vote 3/18. In Part 3, I look at restrictions, policies, audits and reporting requirements applied to MNPD.

The Fusus guardrails bill passed on “second consideration” after several amendments were adopted. The bill now moves to a vote on “third and final consideration” on March 18 when, if passed, it becomes law.
